FRONTLINE EPOXY FLOORING
Frontline Epoxy Flooring offers many resinous, epoxy & seamless flooring options including:
Plain epoxy floors are commonly used in storage areas, plant rooms, garages & commercial areas. A standalone epoxy coating system is very hard wearing. With a short return to service and low odour, these finishes are an economical way to achieve a hygienic and aesthetic finish. Non-slip finishes can be achieved and polyurethane or polyaspartic clear coats can be used as a final coat for added durability and a higher gloss or satin finish. Standalone epoxy coatings are only suited for internal areas and areas not exposed to regular sunlight or UV. Epoxy alone is not UV stable and may discolour over time. Polyurethane and polyaspartic top coats will prolong the colour stability of epoxy coatings.
For heavy-duty commercial applications particularly where a slip-rated finish is required, an aggregate full broadcast epoxy coating is recommended. Well suited for commercial kitchens, plant rooms, cool rooms, and even domestic applications such as pool surrounds & driveways. These systems are a full matrix of epoxy resin and an aggregate - often quartz - to create a thick and tough coating. As the epoxy is completely covered these systems exhibit UV stability and can be used in areas exposed to sunlight or UV when finished with a urethane or polyaspartic top coat.
Half flake epoxy floors are an economical flake flooring system consisting of an epoxy base or background colour and a light or partial flake broadcast. These systems give a fleck-like finish and offer exceptional gloss characteristics. These finishes are suited to indoor areas and should not be exposed to prolonged UV exposure as the exposed epoxy base coat can be susceptible to discolouration over time. The finish can be slippery when wet though a non-slip additive can be incorporated into the final clear coat for added slip resistance - This can dull the gloss effect slightly. These finishes are also available in a satin finish.
Full broadcast flake floors are the traditional flake flooring finish. Like the partial flake finish, the flake is broadcasted into a wet epoxy base coat though much more flake is used - So much so the epoxy cannot hold anymore and refuses any additional flake. There is no exposed epoxy which makes these systems UV stable and suitable for outdoor or exposed areas. The complete flake coverage creates a very strong and dense matrix of epoxy and flake and once the clear coat encapsulates those flakes, creates a very hard-wearing surface. This finish has an orange peel-like texture and has good non-slip properties while still displaying good gloss characteristics. Hybrid stone blend flakes are more popular in this finish though any flake from the range can be used in this finish. These finishes are also available in a satin finish.
Metallic epoxy coatings are resin rich floor coatings comprised of multiple layers of pigmented epoxy. These finishes imitate marble cross sections and are available in an array of colours and styles. Each applicator has its own style and its own way of installing these finishes so the overall look will vary from the applicator to applicator. Metallic epoxy coatings are only suited to internal areas not exposed to the sun or UV. Discolouration may occur when exposed to UV through a Polyurethane or Polyaspartic clear coat will negate yellowing from minor UV exposure.
Acrylic sealers are economical, UV stable, single component coatings designed for external use. The majority of new homes have their driveway coated with a tinted acrylic sealer. Acrylic sealers are economical though are a sacrificial coating and require re-coating every 2-3 years. Non-slip additives can be incorporated to avoid slipping when wet. Acrylic sealers are easy to re-coat and have great inter-coat adhesion - only requiring a pressure wash before applying another coat. Acrylic sealers are available in coloured or clear and are also available in gloss or satin.
Grind and seal applications are a cheaper alternative to MCP / mechanically polished concrete. These finishes involve a 2-3 pass diamond grind using various grits followed by the application of a clear sealer to enhance gloss and replicate a polished concrete substrate. These economical finishes require re-sealing every 5-10 years depending on the clear sealer used. These finishes are available in gloss or satin finishes and with the option of a non-slip additive.
Clear sealing of new concrete slabs is a great way to protect your concrete floor for years to come. Clear sealing is a great option for warehouse storage facilities as the coatings require minimal preparation and have fast turnaround times allowing you to move in within 24hrs of application. These systems are very economical allowing large areas to be coated in a budget-conscious manner. Non-slip additives can be incorporated and the finishes are available in both gloss and satin.
Polyurethane coatings are UV stable systems and are commonly applied to car parks, external decks and roof areas. Polyurethane is hard wearing and easy to apply. Available in coloured or clear versions this product is a great long term solution for UV exposed applications.
Waterproofing membranes and sealers are often required in preparation for epoxy or decorative coating. Rising damp in below ground or external areas can be detrimental to any impervious coating applied to the substrate. We check every job for moisture or rising damp issues before applying any coatings to ensure the longevity of the system.
